Another of this year’s homeowners was so inspired by and thankful for Work Camp 2010 that she created a poem to share. Thanks Cindy!

THERE ONCE WAS A HOUSE WHOSE PAINT WAS PEELING

IT NEEDED MORE THAN A TOUCH UP WE HAD A FEELING

WE KNEW FOR SURE IT NEEDED PAINTED

BUT JUST THINKING ABOUT IT

WE NEARLY FAINTED

ONE DAY WHILE WE WERE IN THE YARD MILLING ABOUT

A TRUCK PULLED UP AND TWO MEN GOT OUT

OH GREAT I’M ABOUT TO BE ROBBED

THE THOUGHT CROSSED MY MIND  BUT THEY LOOKED PRETTY FRIENDLY AND SEEMED REALLY KIND

MID OHIO VALLEY WORK CAMP WILL PAINT YOUR HOUSE THEY SAID AND THEY’LL DO IT FOR FREE

THAT SOUNDED LIKE A FAIR PRICE TO ME

ON JUNE 21ST THEY ALL GOT BUSY SCRAPING AND SPRAYING

PLEASE LET IT BE OVER SOON THEY MUST HAVE BEEN SAYING

THEY ALL WORKED HARD EACH AND EVERY DAY AND DIDN’T COMPLAIN WELL NOT WITHIN EARSHOT ANYWAY

ALL JOKING ASIDE WE APPRECIATE WHAT YOU’VE DONE

YOU ALL DID A GREAT JOB AND WE HOPE YOU HAD FUN

AND NOW OUR HOUSE LOOKS AS GOOD AS NEW

WE’RE THE ENVY OF THE BLOCK AND IT’S ALL THANKS TO YOU!

Update- There will be a rock climbing wall on Monday night. If you wish to participate, complete this release form and bring it with you.

Your group should have already received your confirmation letters; they have been reproduced in our documents and forms section.

Just a quick reminder.  There is a $10. per person room/key deposit.  This should be made out for everyone coming in the form of one check from your home church.  These deposits will not be refunded until after work camp is over.

We hope to see you there!

According to commission President Rick Modesitt:

“I have attended a couple of these events and seen firsthand these projects are incredible. It not only helps the property owners, it also helps clear up blighted properties. Some of these families would never be able to get this work done otherwise. It’s well-worth our supporting. Give us a few days to talk it over, and we’ll see what we can do”
